Our cashews are the Raw White 320 graded cashews.
Cashews trees are found mainly in subtropical climates and can grow up to 14 meter high. Cashews nuts are part of the cashew apple (which is used to make an alcoholic drink). The exterior layer of the nut is removed by heat treatment after which an interior hard shell must be cracked before a final layer is pealed of by hand after which one can find the yummy, creamy, cashew interior. This intense labour, often by treating the nut one by one by hand, explains why cashews are one of the higher valued nuts.
